The Lake Region Budokan was founded in 1985 by Sensei Rick Senger. It is a traditional Japanese Martial Arts Dojo.
Class Schedule:
IF you are interested Karate or other martial arts please feel free to stop in and watch or try a class free of charge. You never know until you try it. Wear loose fitting clothing, preferrably long sleeve and no shorts.
Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm to 7:30pm Karate ages 6-11 6:30pm to 7:30pm Sword School age12-up 7:30pm to 8:30pm Karate age 12-up/ Beginning Jujitsu 8:30pm to 9:00pm Advanced Karate and Iaijitsu Wednesday 6:00pm to 7:00pm Basic Self Defense
7:00pm to 8:00 pm Taiho jitsu (police arresting Techniques) 8:00pm to 9:00 pm Jujitsu
***Basic Self Defense is offerd through Lake Region State College and is a 1 credit PE course. However, if you do not wish to receive college credit you may enroll in the class at the Budokan. It is a 1 semester course beginning September 4th and ending December 12th. The winter semester begins January 9th.

Mission Statement
The Lake Region Budokan is dedicated to the education of its students. We promote good health, self discipline, and the building of good character and moral values. Our instructors attend seminars annually to further their knowledge of their art, as well as new and useful techniques for teaching.
Sensei Senger began his career in the Martial arts 1966 during his tour in the south pacific when he was serving in the U.S. Navy. He began learning Aikido. Since then he has studied a variety of different disciplines such as Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kenjitsu, Iaido, Jodo, Taiho Jitsu and Tai Chi. Sensei is currently the Chief Instructor of Defensive Tactics for the Peace Officer Academy of Lake Region State College, in Devils Lake, ND. He has held this position since 1989 and continues to train daily. Sensei Senger is a member of the Sei-Shin Kai Goshin Budo Jujitsu Union, and The Japan Karate Do Ryobu-Kai. The Style of Karate Taught at the Lake Region Budokan is Shindo Jinen Ryu (True and Godly Art). The Style of Jujitsu is Kaisho Goshin Budo Jujitsu. He is also affiliated with the Nippon Jinmukan sword School.
